She said

 She said she didn't want to go to heaven without me,
I told her, hell is a bad place, better heaven alone than hell with the world.

He loves me unconditionally

 I aim to love others and all, 
To welcome others as God welcomed me in Christ. 
To live unselfishly and daily die to self and carry my cross.
It is hard, difficult to see past my own horizon,
But give it to Christ and believing the gospel conquers all. 
Jesus loves me with no ordinary love,
He loves me unconditionally.

I knew a boy

 I knew a boy who wanted to die
So he went to war,
Asked his commander where the thickest battle was,
He was first to charge,
But he killed all his enemies,
Fell on his knees and sighed in misery,
They hailed him as a hero,
He collected five medals, his mother smiled,
The world said a brave soldier before our eyes,
The boy declined and went to find other ways to fight to die
He succeeded, he became one of the greats
A Hercules. Now his face is on the rock,
Fifty more medals, they crowned him king
Led his nation to a grand prosperity
Got married, had one wife and five kids.
They loved him dearly, but all the while
He wished he could pass and be at peace.
At ninety-nine, already lost his wife to a happy death
He didn't cry but sighed and wished that it was him,
Every night he dreamt of when the morning would no longer be in his sight
It never came, Now at 120 years, he remembers all his friends that passed away.
Most had Post-traumatic stress, but he had none 
No disease, no ache, no depression,
He often preached, but never told of his deep wish to die to be at peace,
But there was no anguish just this only steady dream.

Good Friday

 Jesus died on a Friday, they crucified him. He died in physical and spiritual pain. His death was the death of death. True, many have died before and after, but no one died like Jesus died because he did not have to die because he had no sin. The wages of sin is death so the wages of sin did not apply to him. The death he died was for his sheep. Yes, he took their place. This is why Friday is a good day. As a believer, I rejoice and weep. I weep because my sin nailed Him to the cross and I rejoice because he paid for my sins.

I woke up

 I woke up with a thaw on my chest
Another broking bond,
No correspondence in the pond.
I feel alive then why do I feel sad?
I know I will survive, see my comrades,
Lay down looking at the clouds in the sky.
I'll depart from all my sins
When will the fun begin?
I want to go for another walk, 
But being alone it's hard to talk. 
A penny for her thoughts
When she lectures I'm thinking of taking shots,
Will I score, and the crowds roar and adore.
Heaven closed the door, forbidden it will end in gore.  
If she calls, will I ignore or be in awe?
I changed my style, got a rifle, and played with words,
Now I have all these snowbirds, waiting on me like a herd to be fed.

The drink

 Ah, drink and drink and forget your miseries.
Listen to the music of life and fall asleep.
Life is a vapour, but being conscious, it is too long -
I met her and told her I'm here to touch. 
Ah, the drink, it is poison, but I'm alive!

 What do we wish but for happiness?
Where is she found?
In her eyes
Or in a task?
Why do I live?
I know I will die!
It is in Christ
But each day I fail Him.
