The writings of Sunny Caane

 My Dear Sunny

The goal is to find a wife this year. But what sort of wife am I looking for? I have never really thought of it in a serious way before that I needed one. But now, growing in age, and seeing the sun forever circling its pilgrimage and my life declining, it is time I give serious thought to finding a wife. I want a Rachel as well as a Deborah. I want a Bathsheba without the murder that would give birth to a Solomon, but I am not a king. If I were a King, I fair I would be wasteful and indulge in so much pleasure that I would ruin my Life.

In a wife, I am not sure what I am looking for but when I see her, I shall know for sure. But I am very simple and I believe I could take any decent female that would have me. My ambition is not so high and my faults are plenty. Perhaps that is why every eyes have looked beyond me and would forever look pass me. But what care do I have in this world currently? I live for myself and do things at whatever hour delights me. I must give up this selfish way was to entertain a family. But I fear that I may fail in my duties and after a few years, I would neglect my kids and wife and strut about the earth in search of the silver gold.

But it is well. I have good guidance at my side and you dear Sunny is forever a shining example. you have taught me the ways of duty and honour and the importance of family. It is you that I see as the wisdom of the earth and the great light in the sky. All shall be well in as much as I have my mind at peace and my desires shall be fulfilled. I will pray earnestly and take a gamble, not blindly but be more open and see if the stars do guide our destinies.

I will be with you in August which is two moon rotations away and what joys awaits me.

Your dear childhood friend

Martins.

The Writings of Sunny Caane

Oh My dear delightful Sunny,

Read below about the pain I felt last week.

I was in much pain that I felt the sentences of death upon me. My back aches and I could not sleep. I struggled to breathe and would often say my last prayers that if I should not wake then, please Lord receive my sinful spirit. Such was my state that I despised of living itself, yet I wanted to live and live a life more committed to God.

The pain was excruciating and I thought that I had all kinds of illnesses. I remembered Paul who prayed ardently for his thorn to be removed and I prayed likewise - I began to think that this ache would be my lifelong thorn. I also thought about others who were in chronic pain whose pain was infinitely worse than mine and bore their pain with a daily smile. Those are the saints who color this world of pain. Mine was but a few days and I groaned but never cursed God like Job’s wife would have advised.

Perhaps, I exaggerate my pain to such a degree that it is not as burning as the sun but yet it was as the oven where inedible cake is baked so that it could be consumed. This pain came upon me as a rod to strike me awake from my lukewarmness to my sweet savior and indulging in the ways of the world that brings death. He struck me awake with such a heavy blow that it was the blow of love. O I thought He had forgotten me in the night and despised me in the day. But Christ eyes and mind are always about his saints and how he pleads for us every day.

I have been a wild rebel and in my rebellion, he loved me and forgave me. I will do likewise for I will not hold a grudge against those who do me ill for I have done many a wicked thing to others and worst of all to my God who forgives me of all of my unrighteousness. I will do likewise and always hold a cup of fellowship to as many enemies or friends are as willing to embrace me.

Yours forever,
Silvestre

The writings of Sunny Caane

Oh Dear Sunny, the apple of my eye. I desire to see you soon. Listen to my words:

I am convinced perhaps by all of my own internal strong feelings towards her that she is to be mine. I have no external encouragement from her, in fact quiet the opposite but then a woman often makes these things hard as not to be seen as desperate. But I am fickle and too nice to pursue when all the signs are pointing elsewhere. I did it once when I knew all the signs were negative and in fact I had buried the chase until I was encouraged. I should have listened to my own wisdom but will I listen now concerning her? If my hook should catch her I would be the happiest of all fisher men and this one catch would be enough for me for my whole life. But what to do? What to do? I now await a sign from the heavens as you know I am very superstitious for I lean towards that pagan religion of astrology, and until I receive that sign I will be still. All my blessings and demise have been written long ago in the stars. I know that you are a Christian but our love for one another is so great that I see you as my constant sun. I do not know if she is still single my dear Sunny or if she is now taken by the man she loves. But life goes on day by day until in a thousand years no one remembers that I once lived in love. Please reply quickly my Sunny!

Yours forever

The writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny

I feel that friendship is not in her heart for me even though she declares it. Her eyes pity me because she is unable to return my love. What would friendship yield to one who is besotted with her? O, a sweet one because I have learnt to desire the good of my enemies and there is no feeling greater than the loving passion for a woman. Even this I can discard and wish for her eternal happiness. I desire that her life is full of bliss and that the good Lord blesses her a hundredfold just like how I have desired for the many before her who have eschewed me. That bitter vice of jealousy is not in me as she is not mine but God who owns her. And God has seen to it in his infinite wisdom that we should not be and yet I pray against this and yet I pray for His will be done and yet pray for her felicity. O, my gift to her is happiness even though I have no part in it. It is happiness that I give her at the cost of my life to obtain.

Your sweet hopeful friend

The Writings of Sunny Canne

Ah Sunny, see my words below. I hunger to be a better man and a better lover. I will see you soon my one true friend but read over my words and confession to a lady:

I said words that I didn't mean; like I could never be neutral towards you as your blueish eyes looked upon me in pity. I lied as I struggled to find words to convince you to love me and those words pushed you further away.

You inquired why I desired you and my lies reached new heights. In truth, I desired you and despaired many nights over you but not to the depths I had you imagined. O I am a wicked man and you did well in disobeying my call. Many women have been ruined by my sweet words and although I lack charm, even more, my intimacy is insufficient.

I am a man whose head is always in another place. My lips may be with your lips but my brain is elsewhere. Many have said my kisses and caresses are sweet, but it is the sweetness of a bad thing. Loving me would have been your greatest sin.

There is not a relationship that I have enjoyed so much as to not dance with another. My feet are always moving from the beach to the secretness of a dark room where you are not present. And although I will always look upon you with great affection, and will always desire your company, you did well to completely remove me from your friendship.

Many women have been ruined by keeping me around and I must say that I am a better man than I was. I was always wooing some lady whom I desire no love from, but it made me glad to see her affections for me in her eyes. This reduced my loneliness because My dear Sunny is never around. He is the only one who erases all of my deep sadness.

Forgive me fair lady and all of the ladies before - My confession springs for my newfound joy in something deep that is immaterial. They tell me that you are now thrilled with love. You have reached the love of your life and he has accepted you forever. For this, I raise my glass and toast to your eternal happiness. It is strange for me to write this for no one demanded it. Perhaps this is my therapy as your ears have no more time for my speech.

I remember the long nights of gazing at your feelings. You searching my mind to see the deep agonies that I refused to disclose. You marveled at my knowledge and I was awed by your unbounded ways. As much as I was intimidated by you, I felt safe but not so safe as to tell you that another beauty much like you, perhaps even better also had my heart.

Whatever our friendship was, it was to me a sweet passage of time. I don't know if I ever loved you for what love is, I do not know if I am capable of such a thing as to love a woman entirely in a way that I will always be present, only time will tell.

Time will tell me if I will overcome my aches and time will tell me if I will finally surrender myself into the hands of a woman.

Those were my words, Sweet Sunny. I will visit soon and let us go by the river to enjoy the quiet waters of where much of our childhood was spent. O, those ravishing days my Sunny. You taught me to love but I moved away too soon for your teaching to reach its maturity in my heart. You are my sun and my sky - yours is a friendship I will gladly die for.

Forever yours -

David

The writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny

Why is love so far away from me?

Will I ever find love in a women's heart? Would she treasure me and accept me wholeheartedly?

Many have said before that they would have stayed if I could tell them the truth. They wanted me to reveal all that was in my heart to them. They found me suspicious when in truth I had not much to say. I thought I was transparent as much as I could be.

They wanted more and some accused me of thinking often that I thought that the grass was greener on the other side. Fools they were! I thought no such thing for I always maintained to cut my own grass and to water it daily.

It is what it is and I am not so sad as to be desperate as some that I know. If I was to die today, I would not have regretted not being married. But would I lament not having a Son? To have flesh of my flesh to advance me.

My Old man was a ray of sunshine in the grey clouds of his generation and he looks on me as the child of his promise. I am his one and only son and considers me a dear friend as well as his son in whom he is well pleased.

He desires me to marry for he is convinced that my son would excel both of us in this world and would be the crown of our earthly glory.

Yours forever

The writings of Sunny Caane

Dear Sunny,

If love is measured by thoughts, then she is my second highest love, second to Christ my eternal beloved.

But, say I had to choose between mother and father, son and daughter, friends and cousin, say which one would I chose to save?

But say, if I had to choose with whom to walk to the ends of the earth with, then it is her, my beloved, for her company, none better I have known to me, my dear wife and my only wife if I could have her for a billion years.

I write to express all of the heights of my desires for it is in her that I find all the joys of a woman’s all-encompassing beauty. She is the highest of my sorrows and the second-highest of all my joys.

Ah, dear Sunny, remember in my younger days how I feared that I would love no woman and that I would be a Solomon and desire many women. She is indeed my Sarah, Rachel and Juliet. All my labours are for her and my Christ.

I am coming your way soon, dear Sunny. You were the one who taught me the ways of love and patience. See you soon my beloved friend.

Forever yours,

Mana

The writings of Sunny Caane

Dear sweet Sunny

Ah, fond memories - it is well! How a dream bought me back to feel one of the best feelings I ever felt, in her company- how soft like smiling may where I was so alive in her presence. It was not yet love or I had not realised it - how her English plump cheeks won my heart all of my days. O to be not required, I have moved away from such dejected spirit, but how riveting that I should feel the sweetness of her sunshine in a dream last night, how I felt so long ago. It was awakened in another only to reject me too. O unhappy love is my portion, yet I mourn to be comforted by the sweet love of Christ. To see her again if only for a moment - to read with her again down the halls of my teenage dawn. I have missed my love and only wished that she had left me with a kiss so that I could forever seal her lips in time.

Write to me soon Sunny - your presence is always a delight to me and able to vanquish all anxieties. It is indeed well with my soul - extremely well.

Sincerely yours
Alma

The writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny,

I cannot tell whether she’s happy or unhappy. This can be remedied simply by me asking her a direct question, but no. I’ll abstain from such a direct approach and continue to watch the signs and unconscious acts. I could well misinterpret them but then I’ll drink that error of judgment on myself. Coward! But I think my approach bravery. Besides, why do I care? It is merely curiosity. A desire to understand people without having them explain it to me.

Yours forever

The Writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny

Here I was ready to discard everyone and everything and dwell in isolation- but the Lord woke me from my delusion and brought me into a friendly company where my soul was greatly revived and that there is a sweetness in family and friendships. I ought to show more love and be the first in displaying loving affections rather than waiting to be loved and to be served. I should follow in that godly example of serving others before myself - oh what sweet love and delight in company. And you dear Sunny are a sweet example - I am sure that if you were here I should nit have felt such a depressing emotion. Come soon my dearest friend!

The writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny

Was I the devil sent to prevent a happy thing? Bless God it was him and not me that I should have now by Jove ruined a splendid theme. But care I much about their glad tidings - nay, no care of jealousy only a moment of applause for their blessed unity. My eyes have longed moved past her shores and doubts about her beauty now to me appear so flawed - but will I take a seat at the table of their love or be far too busy if they should call? The evening light dims and I am indeed peaceful in my dreams occupied by a lady too high for me to obtain, but prayers are prayed when hope is all that remains! I try to find the tears dear Sunny but no emotions arise, it is as if I go about my day with no thoughts of her until just like one trips upon a rock, the rock comes to mind for a brief moment, then one goes about their day.

Your dearest friend

The Writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny,

As I look back, there were many ladies who loved me that I paid no attention to. Now I see the agonies of their heart as I was totally blinded to their love for me. Foolish ladies! They should have made it obvious and drew my attention in such a blatant way that I could not have missed it. But instead, they put a cloud upon their love as the clouds hide the sun. Ah, ladies who were unworthy of my delight, or perhaps it was not as if they were unworthy but in that season of my spirited soul, I was not drawn to them as to count them lovely or perhaps even now I may not count them as anything fanciful except to take pleasure in their sisterliness. Ah, such is the way of love that only a few experience the love of one throughout their lives. Love is not something that comes easily for me nor do I seek it, for I am of that pure soul, yea like Christ and Paul to live alone - alone with God for only He can understand the true depths of my need which no woman can satisfy. This is why I am to go up and live in the mountain for a whole year - not to eschew humanity forever but to satisfy my soul in this lonesomeness and then to return fully for a lifetime and give all that I have to the poor and perhaps I’ll be worthy to die a martyrs death and if not so, perhaps my words will live for a thousand years pointing to Christ and the awesomeness of his infinite beauty and how it should be all of our daily duty to seek him first and him alone then everything will be put in its proper place.

I will come and see you my dear Sunny before I depart, for you are the closest one to me and I will miss you dearly my long-time sunshine friend. Deep were the joys in my soul in our youthful hours when leisure was all that we had. Keep well dear friend!

The writings of Sunny Caane

 O my dear beloved Sunny

Read the words I penned the other night.

By the water of the Thames, there I sat down and wept as I remembered her. On her chest I often laid my head to rest and in grieve she was taken from me, and the people looked upon me with malice saying always that I deserved not a beautiful woman like her. How shall I love again when she is gone? If I forget her, let my eyes be taken away from me as to never gaze upon anything of beauty. Be warned you evildoers that there comes a day when my beloved will rise and I will once again rise in strength and dash your little ones against the rocks.

The writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny

Below is in regard to a letter I sent to my beloved Deloria who has now deserted me without a word, just a silent stance she takes toward me.

Ah, Deloria, what shall I say that my heart is troubled because of thee? It is in anguish! Not because of eros love but that of brotherly love. I fear you have mistaken my feelings to think that I am in love with you or seek the sweetness of your kiss. Such a desire is not in my heart. What is in my soul is your happiness. It is the ever-increasing serene jovial joy that I wish upon you. It grieves me because you are now in pain and I can do nothing to soothe you because you eschew me. If I have done anything to bring you to such a thought, then I along with everything good ask for your forgiveness. But if hating me eases your pain in any meaningful way then hate me the most. Such is my delicate care for you that I believe that you have the bluest eyes, fairer than the bluest sky. O, to see you again and talk. I believe I shall be like a balm on your wounds. Perhaps I speak too highly of myself but in any and all ways I am sorry if I have done you any wrong but I want to assure you that I have none of that feeling of physical intimacy in me for you although you are very desirable and a precious jewel. I do not wish you to be the ring upon my finger but more like a friend across a small table who share a hearty meal and then you rest upon my breast like John the Apostle when he rested his weary head on the Messiah' chest.

Yours now and forever

The writings of Sunny Caaane

Dear Sunny

My confidence is in her because she loves me. It is indeed entirely natural and not forced or if it was forced then it was all my natural qualities that forced my love upon her. She wants not my money or status but just me and my devotion. She wants to be loved by me which is to be expected and wants me to be entirely open to her and to confide in her in all things in my heart and for me to never feel a shade of mistrust from her.

But can I love so entirely as she loves me? I fear I am so stricken that I cannot let myself loose as she is willing for me to give. There will always be a part of me kept hidden from her and that part is a mystery to myself for I love the long solitary walks and time alone into the deep night. She wants some of that time if not all.

She has such a selfish and noble love. I can give her some of that time but can I converse with her the deep things of my soul as I do with my diary and with you. She wants to be my pen or rather the paper on which I pour all my thoughts.

I am coming to see you in two days' time. Oh, how happy I am!

The writings of Sunny Caane

 Dear Sunny

Ah, the familiarity of loneliness sipping into my memories as I sit under this enchanted sky. Too many stars above, I wondered if they knew each other and talked to one another and shared chivalrous dreams of love. But what does it matter if anything ever mattered? The sun is hidden, the clinching proof of night and insensible flies agonising my skin. My lack of action agonizes me. My indecision, my indifference to the injustice far away and near me. Why do I sleep the night away and work as a slave during the day? Why do I eat out of necessity and constantly breathe? Why am I not a God, a buddha, a prophet, a messiah, an ambition, the end of all desires, at the top of the food chain, the beginning, and the end? Why must I look a man in the eye and woo a woman? Why must my inner reflection not be seen in a mirror and why was I born?

Ah, the universe is as it is. It just is. Its ever-flowing ebb of cordial indifference to my questions and sufferings. And why must I suffer? Why must I eat and be merry and be a slave to a woman's beauty? Why O Sunny is love not a choice and death a sting? Ah, my memories of your friendship are what keeps me sane and from being crucified to my daily sorrows. Some say I drink too much, but what do they know about too much? What does anyone know about a person's feelings?

But you know, my dear Sunny - You are my defence and elevation. Come soon so that I can rest in the comfort of your tower, safe from this horrifying thunderstorm.

The writings of Sunny Caane

My Sunny

I wrote this the other day to the lady I have grown to admire and was careless in my approach towards her and now I have no chance of ever gaining her love. All the fault is mine.

My Illycia,

It occurred to me late last night in a progressive dream that I indeed loved you. My lapse in judgment in the words written and spoken o you must be forgiven. Like a careless word that angers the soul, so were my words that I wrote to you. At that moment I was not a thinking man nor accredited in what I had to say. This is to portray to you my sorry heart. I only began to love you upon reflection and realized your authority over me. See now how I am affected and have become a slave to your ladyship. Today I have long looked at your artful picture, artful indeed because it is beneficent and beyond beautiful. Those deep bold hazel eyes are blazoned with bright zeal for vigilance in doing good to all especially to those who belong to Christ. Ah, I see it now. Cursed be my blindness that I indeed was careless before you and approached you with a half-hearted will. When we met the other day, I had forgotten that we had met before and engaged in a prolonged dialogue. O, how I resent my waywardness towards you. I do not know if I'll ever see you again or if you will ever write back to me. I will delight to see you again. It is now my daily prayer. Do as you wish, but let charity lead your thoughts toward me.

The writings of Sunny Canne

Dear Sunny

You are indeed my delight, the friend of my heart. I wrote this the other day and it is my pleasure to share it with you. I know that you are coming soon and what pleasant days await us. The river shall be our view and the evening stars will keep us company as in our youth.

Ah, poor man that I am. Will she accept me? That’s not for me to decide! It’s entirely up to her. My whole business is to tell her the whole truth about me and be humble about it. That’s all I can do. And if she does think me worthy of her time then I shall do all I can to meet her expectations. Even if she were to accept me, I must not then be full of pride but to continue with the same humility. She is indeed a precious jewel, a prized possession in the eyes of God. And if she is so prized and adored by God, shall I not treat her with all care and gentleness knowing that I will give an account to her Lord at the end of all my days. Above all, shall I not lead her in the path of holiness and ensure that I am not the man to lead her into the house of sin. I may not lead her by green pastures, she has a shepherd for that and He alone is fit for that task but I can love her until I have exhausted all of my love and even then, I lean in the strength of the Lord which is never failing and never-ending. So I am sure that as long as I keep my eyes on him I shall always love her and not fail her according to his will.

The writings of Sunny Caane - Another dream

Dear Sunny

I wrote the words below the other night. I wish you were here to comfort me and offer me wise words.

Ah, a failure. I could see it in her eyes -

The disappointment -
The scarcity in her thoughts to find anything good.
And do I hold my head in shame?
Do I bereft myself and eat dust because she shuns me.
O I hate rejection! I despise it.
I hate it because of my skin and what is beneath.
If I was another and in a better position she would have agreed and loved it.
But I am scared, afraid to go after another
And at the same time, I can only be honest with myself
And give what I have.
I cannot give what I do not have
And if it befits not her fancy then it is adieu.
She is tall and elegant -
A divine beauty.
The woman of my right hand!
But it is a dream  - yes another dream!!

O Sunny,

I want the absolute best for both of them - the truth is my hope is not in her to achieve that and it is not in him to provide that - my hope is in God and right now it looks like the absolute best for both of them is each other. Circumstances are what they are but my hope is in God.
