I dare not trust my sweetest of frames, that is in those moments when my soul feels extremely righteous, that even though the clear sunshine of joy is in my soul, that I dare not trust in this lovely frame but in Christ alone. The same can be said when I feel lost in the fog of sin, in those moments when I have wallowed in the mire of unrighteousness, that I dare not despair in this frame as to cut me off from God. I trust alone in Christ and in His righteousness.

Miscellanies 109 - My excellent God
Oh Lord, my excellent God - you are indeed wonderful - the greatest of all. Oh how deeply regretful I am for all of my sin and wickedness. In all of my misery, I trace but this, that I have offended thee and thus failed to enjoy your sweetness. Here I am, thankful for your forgiveness and redemption of my soul. May I lift your name among my peers.

Though all the lights
Though all the lights in all the galaxies were put into one as to infinitely increase its brightness, yet the infinite sweet light of Christ outshines it without effort. It gloriously dispels it making all the lights of all the worlds as darkness in comparison.

I have barely written a thing.
This year is almost at an end
And I have barely written a thing.
It seems my pen has taken wings
And nested in a gloomy field.
Veiled or rather lost
Is my trust for my own lute.
A wailing wind, wavering courage;
I dare not ink my thoughts so bold.
But here I stand on the precipice of this year
That I vow to write more solemn and
Some on silly things - Dwelling
With poetry overlooking the wild extravagance
of an imaginative mind, too many
that each must be one of a kind,
And I, also one of a kind
In a land where man should admire
The starry Nights and wonder
How such a God would care so deep,
That He would leave the space Inbetween.

Blackest eyes
They come to our land to win,
in sin we lived, merry and giddy, man and woman extremely silly.
No thoughts beyond the sky above, until the rivers red,
and many eyes emptied in silos.
Lucifer this must be, no mortal could unleash a pain so free,
So sick, they laughed in their greyish coat,
Smoking our skin, and drinking our gin,
That last night, we danced our fill, till we all sundry fell asleep.
Awoke in terror, sister we must run,
invaded by a clan no defence could prevail,
such feelings felt divorced from cheer,
No stint for tears, the stones the coldness felt.
Run dear sister to the hills above,
I will stand for your career.
Live! you must live for me and you,
for all of us, and for the trees that fall,
remember the wind and air we breathed.
Think me no hero, no sun nor moon,
but a happy folk, my death must be
a song embraced.
Blackest eyes, my killers march near,
the sun gleams on, to display his care.
is it fair, that diamonds are rare?
and only the wicked enjoy her shine.
Yesterday I lived, today I live too
death is not dying, only those who fear dies,
it is fear that kills, hopelessness kills, slavery kills.
Blackest eyes, to me he said, "your last scream
Will raise joy in me".
Blackest eyes and surely the gloomiest eyes, you are but dust to me,
your joy from hence compare not to mine,
I have lived, and what I have lived your sword cannot kill.
For my ways have gone with the wind,
to every youth who for freedom lives,
in them and everywhere, to all that breathes
for liberty there my life shall be.

Miscellanies 108: Forgive me my Lord for my sins
Forgive me my Lord for my sins
I am ashamed because I have shamed you
But from now I repent of it all
And promise to depart from all of my wicked ways.
Oh help me, dear Spirit, help me deep
Help me change and I will lead others to follow your beloved Christ.
I know your mercies are new each day
And you lovingly direct it towards me
I will lavish in your love for me and glory in the splendour of your goodness
In prayer and in fasting I will seek thee
May my works be like the light, illuminating the darkness.
I dedicate all I am to you
Oh Christ my sweet beloved
Let me cease from my idolatrous ways
Oh, righteous anger feels me when I see others depart from thee.

Miscellanies 107:The fight over sin is never ending
The fight over sin is never ending until the day of this mortal death. I had thought earlier in my youth, that surely sin would eventually cease her fight against me, but nay she continually violently tries to obtain that which I said belongs to Christ. More than ever, her resolves grows and her tactics ever deceitful that if I should think of resting for a moment, she would engulf me, reducing to ashes all of my past achievement. I know now that the battles are longer, watchfulness I must always be. O how easy it is for me to forget Christ and lean on my own strength, and it is in those moments that I fail exceedingly.
