Miscellanies 91: Moses turned water into blood but Jesus turned water into wine

Moses turned the water of Egypt into blood, but Jesus turned the water at the wedding into wine. Jesus says of himself after people rejected him that, 'I did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.' How many today reject Jesus because they believe that he will destroy their lives, that is kill their joy. Surely, indeed your joy will be killed for they are the wrong joy to be enjoyed; but Jesus will replace them with the right ones. The kind that makes you rejoice when you are persecuted for righteousness sake, and reviled for Jesus's sake.

Moses turned the water of Egypt into blood but Jesus can turn your water into wine. At the wedding there was now a lack of wine after everything had been drunk. And for us, Adam has emptied our treasure of righteousness. We are all empty and need Christ to cover our bankruptcy. We need his wealth and he will provide if we only repent and believe in him. He shall fill our banks with his righteousness.
