Faith alone is the condition for salvation and even that faith in which a man may possess is yet a gift from his saviour. You may by hearty prayers and hard work seek your salvation but until you unclench your fist and beat your chest and lift thine eyes to the heavens to declare your wretchedness and then with all manner of simplicity look with the eyes of faith to the cross, you will forever be in search for your salvation and your works will only bring you to the terror of hell. I beseech men with great fervency to leave the mountain of works and to come by the plains of grace where it is a free merry ground of easy delight. Salvation is by faith in Christ and herein alone is the remedy from eternal damnation. Forsake your works for God has not promised to grant salvation by them except through faith. To those who believe in His name, He gave them the right to become children of God.
